Ingredients
For the candy cane vodka, and to decorate
- 5 candy canes, plus extra to garnish
- 250ml vodka
- 50g melted white chocolate
For each cocktail
- ice cubes
- 30ml candy cane vodka
- 60ml Irish cream liqueur
- 60ml single or whipping cream
Step by step
- At least a few hours ahead of serving, break 5 candy canes into a clean jar and top up with the vodka. Leave to dissolve, shaking every so often. The candy cane vodka will keep indefinitely if it’s in a sterilised jar or bottle.
- To decorate the glasses, crush at least 1 candy cane finely. Put the melted white chocolate on a saucer or small plate then dip in the rims of the cocktail glasses before pressing them into the crushed candy cane pieces. Chill to set.
- To make the cocktails, add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker then add the measured candy cane vodka and Irish cream liqueur and shake for 30-60 seconds until well chilled. Remove the lid, add the cream and swirl to mix rather than shaking. Strain into your cocktail glass and decorate with a candy cane if you wish.
