We browse the aisles with Lorna Wing. Having once hosted parties for the likes of The Rolling Stones and Nicole Kidman, Lorna is now a food consultant and has written many recipes for Sainsbury’s magazine.
Butternut squash sheets
'It’s very hard to cut squash as thin as this yourself. Layer them with wilted spinach, Parmesan, garlic and double cream for a delicious veggie bake.'
Sacla aubergine pesto
'Mix this with tahini, lemon juice, a little garlic and coriander, and you’ve got a fantastic, easy dip.'
Crosta & Mollica black pepper bolli crackers
'I’m always looking for party food ideas. These are really good as a canapé base, topped with pâté or cheese.'
Bury black pudding
'This makes the best weekend breakfast, fried and served with chunks of toasted sourdough and an egg.'
Padron peppers
'I fry these slightly bitter peppers with a little olive oil, garlic and Serrano ham or bacon. They’re great as a nibble, or a side with fish.'
Cornish seaweed sea salt
'Lovely sprinkled on buttered bread. For a smart canapé, I mix the salt with melted, unsalted butter, then dip radishes into it.'
Chicken wings
'I make a really healthy, wholesome chicken broth from these. Serve with shredded chicken, noodles and coriander.'
Natco green raisins
'I make a really healthy, wholesome chicken broth from these. Serve with shredded chicken, noodles and coriander.'
