Impress your guests with our top 3 trends for a showstopping cheeseboard. While they may look fancy, these quick foodie hacks are easy to do and will take your cheeseboard to dizzy heights this summer.
1. Herbed goats' cheese
Pick the leaves or fronds from an assortment of soft herbs, such as parsley, dill and tarragon. One by one, press them onto a log of goats’ cheese (we used Chavroux brand) until completely covered. This technique would also work well with edible flowers.
2. Salami rose
You’ll need a flute glass, small glass ramekin or deep cooking ring. One by one, slightly overlap rounds of salami on top of one another around the rim of your glass (or other). Continue to layer rows of salami until you have your desired size of rose. Be sure to press the pieces onto the edge so it sits tightly. Flip the glass (or other) over onto your cheeseboard and lift off to create the finished rose. Try experimenting with other antipasti meats, such as chorizo or pepperoni, and create different sized roses with different receptacles.
3. Heart-shaped tomatoes
Use a small serrated knife to slice baby plum tomatoes on the diagonal. Arrange the tomato halves so that the cut sides are touching and it creates a heart shape. Pierce both pieces together with a cocktail stick. Repeat until you have the desired number of tomatoes.
