Ingredients
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- 1½ tsp ground turmeric
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 16 cardamom pods, seeds crushed
- 400ml soy milk, or other plant milk
- 1-2 tbsp agave or maple syrup, to taste
Step by step
- Heat the coconut oil in a small pan and add the spices, keeping back a pinch of cardamom, and add a few grindings of black pepper. Stir for 30-60 seconds until aromatic, then gradually mix in the soy milk and bring to a simmer. Sweeten to taste. Froth up with a hand-held blender or whisk, then pour into 2 mugs. Sprinkle with the reserved cardamom for extra aroma and flavour as you drink.
Tip
Did you know? Black pepper in a latte might sound strange, but consuming turmeric at the same time as pepper is thought to help your body absorb curcumin more successfully.
