Shots of spiced rum are accompanied by wheat beer to make this twist on the dark ’n’ stormy fruitier and even more refreshing. If you’re after something less sweet, replace the ginger beer with ginger ale

Ingredients

  • ice
  • 60ml spiced rum
  • juice of 1 lime
  • Angostura bitters
  • 250ml German wheat beer (such as hefeweizen)
  • 400ml ginger beer
  • lime slices, to garnish

Step by step

  1. Add a handful of ice cubes to two highball glasses. Divide the rum, lime juice and a few dashes of Angostura bitters between the two glasses and gently stir. 
  2. Divide the beer, followed by the ginger beer between the two glasses and give another gentle stir before garnishing with lime slices. Serve.
