Ingredients

  • 4 pork loin steaks
For the marinade
  • 3 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tbsp clear honey
  • 1 tbsp soft dark brown sugar
  • ½ tbsp English mustard

Step by step

Get ahead
Marinate the pork the night before; chill. Bring to room temperature before cooking.
  1. Mix together the marinade ingredients. Tip into a large plastic food bag or a shallow dish and add the pork. Turn in the marinade to coat well and leave in the fridge for a few hours (overnight is fine). Remove from the fridge 1 hour before cooking.
  2. Light a barbecue or preheat a griddle pan. Shake off any excess marinade, then barbecue or griddle the pork for 3-4 minutes on each side, turning occasionally, until sticky and cooked through. Leave to rest for 10 minutes. Bring the remaining marinade to the boil in a pan and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until reduced slightly. Serve with the pork steaks.
