Cointreau, the French orange liqueur loved by cocktail fans the world over (it’s at the heart of more than 500 cocktails), has long been admired not just for what’s inside the bottle, but for the bottle itself. Now, its classic foursided amber bottle has had a thoroughly modern makeover to be more evocative, but no less iconic. Look out for a slightly taller bottle – made from two-thirds recycled glass – with lots of nods to its heritage, including raised renderings of the distillery’s stained glass windows on the sides and embossed copper detailing representing the copper stills in which the liqueur is made. The orange fruit that’s at the heart of Cointreau is also celebrated – on the label illustration, in the orange peel texture of the cap, and with the coloured ribbon and medallion.
