Do you know a man who's a dab hand in the kitchen?

by Sarah Alcock

Calling all dads: do you serve up a mean family meal? Are you king of your kitchen? Then we want to hear from you! We're looking for dads who can knock up an easy, tasty family supper in less than one hour to enter this year's Dishy Dads competition for the chance to win a fantastic holiday to Crete.

We'll invite the six dads with the best recipes to our test kitchens in London, where they'll cook their dishes in front of our foodie judging panel – Michelin-starred chef Richard Corrigan, food writer Kevin Gould, our editor Helena Lang and food director Sarah Randell.

Think you can handle the heat and wondering what to make? Dad's House blogger Billy McGranaghan told us he'd make a hearty spaghetti Bolognese, while last year's winner Will Boud served up crispy-coated cod with roast squash and tomato sauce – food for thought!

The lucky winner will be jetting off to Crete with his family next summer, and all of our finalists will receive:

  • A James Martin Stellar knife block set, worth £130
  • Afternoon tea for two at various locations, worth £29, courtesy of Virgin Experience Days
  • A Sabichi Manhattan toaster and kettle in metallic red, worth £50.
  • The winner and runner-up will be treated to a Cook and Dine lesson at L'Atelier des Chefs cookery school in London.

To enter yourself, or nominate your Dishy Dad, send an email with 'Dishy Dads' in the subject line to feedback@sainsburysmagazine.co.uk, including your/their name, phone number, address and email address, along with the recipe (which must have no more than 12 ingredients and which must be cooked in less than one hour), a photo of the finished dish and a picture of the Dishy Dad himself, by 29 October – good luck!
