On Friday morning we opened the Sainsbury's magazine test kitchen in Clerkenwell to our super six Dishy Dads finalists and our special guest foodie judges, Michelin-starred chef Richard Corrigan and writer and food expert Kevin Gould.
After a quick calming cuppa, our dads ventured to their stations, donned their Dishy Dads aprons and began their gruelling hour of cooking – although most of them seemed cool as a cucumber.
Once the contestants had got into their stride, judges Richard and Kevin went into the kitchen – MasterChef style – to suss out the dads and their dishes. It's not easy to cook when you have a world-class chef tasting your food and quizzing you on your methods, but the dads weren't fazed and took our judges' tips on board.
Once all the food was plated up, it was time for the judges to dig in and debate each dish... it became clear after a while that there was one clear front-runner... and the giveaway? The plate had been scraped clean!
